This Privacy Notice explains how Mane Focus ("Mane Focus", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you use our website and web application (the "Service"). Mane Focus is the data controller of the personal data described here.
1. Personal data we collect
- Account data: name, email address, password (hashed), profile details you choose to add.
- Content you create: horses, riders, shows, entries, results, goals, training notes, photos and any files you upload.
- Support messages: the content of feedback, support requests and correspondence.
- Usage and telemetry: pages viewed, actions taken, device/browser information, approximate location derived from IP address, and error logs.
- Cookies and similar technologies: essential cookies for authentication and session management, and privacy-friendly analytics.
Payment and billing data (card details, billing address, tax identifiers) is collected and processed by our reseller Paddle.com as an independent controller. Mane Focus does not receive or store full card details.
2. How we use personal data
- Create and manage your account and provide the Service (contract performance).
- Process subscriptions, invoices and receipts via Paddle (contract performance and legal obligation).
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests (contract performance and legitimate interests).
- Secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and maintain audit logs (legitimate interests and legal obligation).
- Improve the Service through aggregated analytics and diagnostics (legitimate interests).
- Send transactional messages (e.g. sign-in, password reset, subscription updates) — contract performance.
- Send product updates and marketing where you have opted in (consent), which you can withdraw at any time.
3. Who we share data with
- Service providers / subprocessors that host and run the Service, including our cloud infrastructure, database and authentication provider, transactional email provider, and product analytics tools.
- Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for payments, subscription management, tax compliance and invoicing. See Paddle's Privacy Notice.
- Professional advisers such as legal, accounting and insurance advisers, where necessary.
- Authorities where required to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect rights, property and safety.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Data retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and for a limited period afterwards, typically up to 12 months, so you can reactivate. Records we are required to keep for legal, tax or accounting reasons (for example, invoices) may be kept for longer. We delete or anonymise data when it is no longer needed.
5. International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside your country of residence. Where personal data of users in the UK or EEA is transferred outside the UK/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. To exercise your rights, contact us using the details below; we will respond within the timeframe required by law (typically 30 days).
7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, row-level authorisation on our database, audit logging and least-privilege administration. No system is 100% secure — please help us by using a strong, unique password.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We may also use privacy-friendly analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used and improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies will stop parts of the Service from working.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "last updated" date and, where the changes are material, notify you through the Service.
